This Keto 5 Spice Pork Tenderloin is an easy sheet pan meal that can be made in less than 30 minutes! What’s not to love about a simple and delicious low carb dinner that the entire family can enjoy!?
It doesn’t get much easier than sheet pan dinners in my opinion, and this keto 5 Spice Pork Tenderloin recipe is no exception! Don’t let the minimal prep fool you though, this is an impressive keto dinner that is fancy enough for company or date night.
For the sake of presentation and to keep the meat from drying out, I cut this keto 5 spice pork tenderloin on the bias (just a fancy word for diagonally – you’re welcome) and in thicker pieces of about 2 inches high. It’s not necessary, but it’s definitely prettier than simply slicing the tenderloin into 1/2 inch thick discs.
I’m not kidding when I say that making this keto 5 spice pork tenderloin is easy. You’re simply going to coat the tenderloins in oil, and then generously apply the seasoning blend and bake until done (see complete recipe instructions below.)
While the pork is delicious on its own, I am including a simple Asian inspired sauce made with lime, ginger, sesame, and gluten free soy sauce (tamari) or coconut aminos if you are avoiding soy. It complements the 5 spice well, and also flavors the Coconut Lime Cauliflower Rice that I recommend serving this with.
Then you can also garnish with scallions and red chilis as shown below.
What is 5 Spice Powder?
If you’ve never heard of it, 5 spice powder is an Chinese spice blend containing ground cloves, cinnamon, fennel seeds, star anise, and Szechuan pepper. You can find it in the spice aisle of pretty much any grocery store, but you can also make your own if you have the base ingredients – here is an authentic 5 spice powder recipe from The Spruce Eats.
Can I replace the pork with a different protein in this recipe?
Absolutely! While the pork tenderloin is excellent in this Keto 5 spice recipe, you can replace it with chicken breasts or thighs, fish fillets like salmon or mahi mahi – and even shrimp (or tofu if you’re vegetarian) would work well.
You’ll need to adjust your cooking time down for fish or shrimp, but a google search for how long to bake the protein of your choice should yield good results in this keto sheet pan meal recipe.

- +1 teaspoon 5 spice powder
- granulated erythritol sweetener (I used Lakanto Golden)
- kosher salt
- pounds pork tenderloin
- avocado oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped scallions, for garnish if desired
- 2 teaspoons chopped red chilis, for garnish if desired
- lime juice
- gluten free soy sauce or coconut aminos
- minced ginger
- powdered erythritol (I used swerve)
- avocado oil
- sesame oil
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Combine spices and sweetener.
- Coat the tenderloin in avocado oil.
- Rub in the spices on all sides of the tenderloin.
- Place on a baking sheet and fold the skinny ends under for uniform thickness.
- Remove and rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir well.
- Serve with sliced tenderloin.
